Ladder 65 and MICU 67
Assist Kimberton on Dwelling
Around 16:00 hours
the CCFB alerted Station 61 for a trash fire at 1513
Cumberland Court in the Kimberton Knoll Development. Engine
61-1 arrived quickly and immediately requested the full box
assignment for a dwelling fire as they found fire extending
into a row of townhomes. Engine 61-1 had a several bushes
and mulch on fire running along the row of homes from 1512
to 1516 Cumberland Court.
The CCFB upgraded the assignment and alerted Station 61
for the balance, Rescue 72, Ladder 65, and Engine 62-5. MICU
67 was also added on the assignment for the EMS standby.
Ladder 65 responded minutes after dispatch with 5 personnel
and were given orders by Chief 61 to bring hand tools and
chainsaws to open up the front of the row of houses. Upon
arrival of the Ladder, the bulk of the fire was knocked down
by Engine Co. 61 and extensive overhaul was completed to
ensure the fire had not extended any further. After about an
hour of work and wetting down the mulch bed, crews began
taking up and clearing the scene.
