Apartment Fire at King
Terrace Apartments
At 10:38 hours on Thursday morning, the CCFB alerted
Stations 65, 66, and 67 for an automatic fire alarm at the
King Terrace Apartments, 300 High St. As units went
responding, they were advised that the assignment was being
upgraded to a building fire with a report of smoke pouring
from an unknown apartment. The upgrade added Tower 61 and
Engine 68 and the Phoenixville Police confirmed a working
fire on the 2nd floor. Assistant 67 requested the working
fire dispatch and upon arrival established High Street
Command. Crews stretched handlines to the fire and began
searches of all 3 floors. Several occupants were assisted
from the building with help from the police officers onscene.
The fire was quickly knocked down with one line and held to
the unit of origin. The entire building was evacuated and
closed until further notice. The Red Cross assisted the
occupants with temporary housing and the Chester County FM's
investigated the cause.
