02/25/2008 - Dryer Fire

The Phoenixville Fire Department was dispatched at 2:15 pm to the Happy Day Laundry on 31 Bridge Street for a appliance fire. Battalion 65 (Meadows) and Ladder 65 arrived onscene with light smoke showing. The building was evacuated and the fire was determined to be clothes inside one of the dryers. PFD members secured the utilities and checked for extension of the fire. The department was available at 2:48 pm.
